Anal beads & Intimate Wellness
Anal beads are an intimate wellness device consisting of a sequence of smooth, rounded elements connected in a linear arrangement. In academic and medical literature, they are discussed primarily in relation to human anatomy, sensory perception, and sexual health, rather than as lifestyle or recreational products (Lehmiller, 2018; Herbenick et al., 2017).
Anal beads typically consist of a flexible or semi-rigid strand with evenly spaced spherical or oval components. Designs may use beads of uniform size or beads that gradually increase in diameter along the length of the device. Many designs include a terminal loop or widened base, a feature frequently referenced in medical and safety literature addressing devices intended for anal use (McBride & Fortenberry, 2010).
